This week we did an activity were we closed our eyes and Miss Power put an object in our hand, and we had to decided what the object felt like using adjectives and nouns. Then we looked at the object, I had a mini figure of a woman. Then when we looked at it we decided more about what it looked I like. Then we could look on a online thesaurus for more word. In the end we had to have 40 word in our word bank here is my word bank -

West Coast Swimming

West Coast Swimming

This week I had West Coast swimming. Last week I went to Grey district and now I got into West Coast. This is the first time I've got into Grey district or West Coast swimming. 

I got in for 50 m (2 lengths) breaststroke. On Wednesday Morning the people going to West Coast went to the swimming pools. I was waiting for 5 out of the 6 hours we were there for my race. When I final got to do my race I lined up with 2 other girls for my race. 

Then beep the race has started I was swimming as fast as I could. I made it to the other length and pushed of the wall to do my 2nd length. I ended up coming last but a least I got there. 

I felt happy, exited and nerves but it was cool because I din't know what to expect. I would definitely do it again. 👍

Red Poem

Week 7

On Thursday we had to do a 1 sentence poem about the colour blue. Then when we had finished that we had to make a 4 sentences poem about a colour of our own choice. I decided to do the colour red because I could think about a lot of things that are red like, apples, read panda's, watermelon, fire, paint and a lot more. So here is my poem about the colour red -

Red Poem

Silently through my body red blood rushes through my veins like a wild hurricane.

During the dark cold winter there is a roaring fire, red flames swinging like a dancer on stage.

The sweet smell of red roses is like cotton candy when it melts inside your mouth.

Red is the colour of the soft strawberry juice that squirts from the strawberry beneath your teeth, like a pimple just being popped.

This week on Friday it my schools family fiesta . For the fiesta Totara hub get to make cupcakes. When I got told I went home and looked on the internet for cool ideas and I found a cool idea for a Starbucks coffee idea here is the photo I found -

This is my idea for my cupcakes but I will put the cupcake in a paper cup with the logo on it to make here is my finish product -

I think it turned out really well and it was fun!! :)

My Art

   My Art Piece

For the past 4 weeks my class have being working on a piece of art called unique you.

We started on a A4 piece of paper and sketched pictures that related to you or something you like. 

Then you drew the pictures on a A2 piece of paper. Then colour them in with oil pastels. Then you colour in the background.

Then you choose a silhouette to trace on the back. I choose to do a lion. Then you cut out the shape without cutting the outside part so when you done you can see the shape with you art inside, and the outside piece will have a shape inside. 

Here is a photo of my lion cut and ready to put onto black paper -

Now I am ready to stick the lion onto a piece of black paper then cut out a border. Then I stuck my other piece of art on another black piece of paper, here are the photo's -
